Sunday 5th February - Market Weighton
Sue Cook will be leading a walk of about 12 miles from Market Weighton incorporating part of the Hudson way and the lovely village of Londesborough. As it's Sue's birthday on the following day, there are plans for post-walk refreshments back at her house. Meet at Nunnery Lane Car Park at 9.00 as usual.
Sue's contact number is 01904-424179
Friday 24th February - Wheeldale Bothy walk
Meet 09.00 hrs on Friday 24th February at Haxby main car park behind the shopping centre ( Post Code YO32 2HU) or at 10.00 hrs outside the Mallyan Spout Hotel YO22 5AN roadside parking can be found nearby at SE 884 112
Length of walk is 18 km (11.5ml) approx time is 4hrs 40mins (without stops) total ascent 360 metres and walk follows good paths throughout.
For those who are a bit tired of having lunch in the open exposed to all the elements this walk is based on a visit to the Bothy on Wheeldale Moor where you can sit in the comfort of a shelter maintained by the Mountain Bothy Association. The walk will start from Hunt House and visit the Cropton Forest Area.
As we are planning to use the Wheeldale Bothy for a lunch it may be a good idea to bring the lightweight cookers along and make a hot meal.
This walk can be shortened if required on the day
This is the second at putting midweek walks into the programme and as such is still a bit of an experiment so we may need to alter meeting places, times, dates etc.
The plan is to put on a series of walks so please contact me if you are interested in this type of event or just want to know more information.

Walk Leaders Needed
Walk leaders are still needed for the Sunday walks on 25th March . Please
contact Tracey Oxley on 01904 778492 or email oxleyth@hotmail.com if you would like to
lead a walk on this date.
Midweek walks
It has been suggested that now more of the group are either retired or work part time, we could add some daytime walks during the week to the programme. If members are interested in this, it would be good to know which days of the week are the most popular before we set them up. If you may be interested in daytime midweek walks, please contact Stuart Holmes (email stuartholmes@hotmail.com ) with the days you may be available.
